Cali

My second group arrives today.  Not sure where there from or what’s in store, but I am excited.
My first group was amazing.  It was a great start to my time here and it was exciting to see how God opened their eyes (and mine) to how big, how loving, and how great He is.  The [...]

OAKLANDISH

I am back in the Bay and ready for action. I am living in Oakland, CA and this place is off the chain…Hyphy, ghost ridin’ the whip,  Norteños, whistle tips, Deep East Oakland, and some super sweet ministry.  I will be hosting youth groups for three weeks, taking them around the city, and doing urban [...]

Guilty Pleasure of the Week: Colbie Caillat

I saw Colbie last spring and was surprisingly impressed.  She had a very laid-back, acoustic set…evoking the multi-sensory experience of a tropical beach (Ie: Malibu, her hometown).
Colbie’s “Bubbly” and “Realize” are pinatas that radio DJ’s beat to death, but her album titled “Coco” is actually pretty solid.  This track, “Tied Down” is my favorite [...]

We left San Fran Saturday night at 9pm and drove through the night. We got into Laguna Beach at 4 am and slept in the car for a couple hours. The town is really, really nice…as is the beach. I was hoping to run into LC or someone from the show but [...]

full house

San Francisco was amazing! We had a blast traipsing all over the town. We got to check out those crazy steep and crooked streets…very cool stuff! Breakfast at a sweet coffee shop…the Chestnut Street Coffee Roastery. It was like Saints in SC but a big larger/less cramped. Then, we drove down [...]

under the bridge

Yesterday we had an amazing time taking pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge and climbing around the mountain that the one side is on. We walked around Fisherman’s Wharf and got some In N Out. We attempted to give some food to a homeless man and he aggressively refused the food. Then we snagged some [...]

The Golden State just may be my new favorite state. Home of some of the most gorgeous and fun cities in the world, some of the most historic sports teams, the gold rush, earthqueakes, In n’ Out, Snoop & Dre, and most importantly herpes….err…Arnold the guvna.

This pic is from Santa Barbara. We ventured [...]
